The aim of the photo hunt is to have members of Maitland Camera Club wander around a location that is convenient and safe for you, within the time frame stated in the rules. Once the images are entered, they will be judged and a prize will be awarded to 1st place in each category.
This is an EDI entry only and due to it being a fun event, placings will not be added to Maitland Camera Clubs monthly competition point score.

Urban colours … To keep in line with this year’s theme of colour at MCC, urban colours is included as a category in the photo hunt.
Capture the vibrant colours found in the urban environment. Whatever you see that is vibrant and catches your eye is sure to be a worthy entry.
Framed … Use elements within the scene to naturally frame your subject. Some examples are windows, tree branches, tunnels, natural light and shadows. Get as creative as you like.
Details … When photographing your subject look at the finer details, textures and intricate elements, which has the potential to turn an ordinary subject into something more interesting.
The letter B…has a wide range of elements to choose from, so this should be easy and fun.
Rule of odds … Capture odd numbered objects or subjects to create a balanced composition.
Metallic … Look for anything that is made of metal of any size or metallic surfaces or reflections (insect wings come to mind here.) From the shiny and new to rusty and old. Keep in mind the textures, reflectiveness and how it interacts with the light.
Guidelines
How you interpret each category is totally up to you. You can be straight forward, think outside the square or add some creative flare.
Mono or colour are both accepted.
Getting together in a group is a great idea. Wandering around for a few hours with like-minded people, would be a lot of fun. For safety reasons it would be preferrable to be with at least one other person to keep you company if you are considering going out alone. Last but not least, the important aim is to have fun.
