14th June – Panning Workshop

This will be a practical hands-on workshop presented by Phil Whiteman. Phil will give members the background to the technique of panning and then we will have time to practice the technique.

What to bring:  camera, memory card, spare battery and a lens that is quick and suitable in low light situations i.e. 24 – 70mm, 50mm etc. A monopod or tripod may also be useful.

If you want to do some preparation this is a good overview:  And this Adobe resource is also excellent:

21st June – Understanding the Judging Process

This presentation by Rob Oyston will take members on a journey through the judging process used in international Salons such as the Maitland International Salon.  Rob will take members through a “behind the scenes” outline of how the judging process is managed by the Chair of a Salon.  It may assist and encourage members to enter international and/or national Salons and assist members in choosing images that are more likely to be successful – whether that is club, interclub, national or international competitions.

Understanding the judging process is a key skill of successful photographers.

This workshop replaces the Lighting Still Life workshop that was to be presented by Nicole Curtis as Nicole is unwell.
