MCC Update – February
Last night was a great start to the 2024 season. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated. The diversity and quality of the images was amazing, and it was lovely to see everyone again.
The 2024 club rules and program are on the MCC website under the Member’s Documents tab. The rules document is important reading to develop an understanding of how the club functions and the various requirements – print size, files and the like. These documents have all the definitions we use throughout the year and that is essential reading!
Labels for the Wollombi Exhibition
The Exhibition Name Tag file is now on the website – Member’s Documents tab.
Prints for Wollombi Exhibition
Prints can be brought to camera club next week or dropped off at the Old Fire Shed, Wollombi on Friday 16th during the set up working bee. Please feel welcome to stay around and lend a hand!
13th February: Viewing of the Maitland International Salon of Photography
This is an opportunity to have time to examine and discuss the top 350 images awarded in the salon. This year there were 4498 entries from 356 entrants in 42 countries, so the images in the exhibition are both exceptional and diverse.
Where – the Arts and Crafts Pavillon, Maitland Showground. This building (tall, cream, corrugated iron shed) located just inside the entry gates (right hand side) at the end of Anzac Street, Maitland. It is very easy to find.
20th February: Roy Killen: Using AI to improve your photography
The use of AI in photography is currently a divisive topic. Roy will help us all to understand its implementation in our art form and no doubt his work with the PSA will provide a great insight into the underlying issues.

Membership renewal
Good afternoon members
Here we are in another new year! It’s also time for membership renewal, which is $50 for the year. Please advise John Maher and myself (treasurer and membership secretary) of your payment by enclosing a receipt in your email. The only exception is for Ken Ponchard, who has already joined for the year after paying at the end of last year. Here’s to another successful year for our club and members!
Kind regards
Jenni
