On-line entry forms for this year’s remaining competitions have been activated. Once members login, these forms are available under the “For Members – Enter Competitions” menu or the “Enter Competitions” link under Quick Links.
A nice feature of the entry forms is that entries can be swapped or deleted up until the nominated auto cut-off time (midnight on the Sunday preceding the monthly competition judging day).
All competition sections (print and EDI) require EDI versions to be uploaded via the entry form. The EDI versions of prints are used for management only. The actual prints are still used for judging.
Adoption of the MyPhotoClub system by the Club facilitates entering and managing competitions, both the Club’s own competitions and other competitions that are linked into the MyPhotoClub network. Members can view these competitions using the “Clubs and Comps” menu.

A full two days of activities has been organised for your enjoyment
by Brad Le Brocque, August 10, 2016
Starting at 7pm Tuesday 9 August, we will be viewing and commenting on images made by members for this year’s assignment. Arising from Geoff Patchett’s tutorial on Abstract Photography in June, members were invited to produce for 9 August, three different digital abstract images according to the following guidelines –
One image the relies mainly on lines or shape for its effect.
One image that relies on colour, and
One image that relies mainly on the subject being out of context.
Please contact Geoff if you would like a copy of his slide presentation or have questions about the assignment.

Tues 2 August – 6.30pm for 7pm start – Competition with “A Different Perspective” as the set-subject. Entries will be assessed against the following definition –
“An image that provides a different perspective on a common object or scene. For example, a tall building taken from ground level (as opposed to eye level), or inside a fridge looking out, or a black and white rainbow.”
Roy Killen is the guest judge for the night. Roy is highly skilled as a photographer and judge and always provides helpful comments.
Members’ Choice Voting: A special feature on the night will be a trial of members’ choice voting. At the start of the meeting, all members will be invited to record their choice for best image in each section. The results will be tallied and announced during the meeting. Whilst the results do not count for the Club’s Pointscore Competition, this additional activity adds enjoyment to the night.
NPF Competition: Members are asked to submit their print entries, as well as the $10 entry fee, for this year’s NPF competition before the meeting closes.

Members of Maitland Camera Club are invited to enter this year’s Northern Photographic (NPF) Competition. Closing date for entries is Tuesday 2nd August. The entry fee is $10 regardless of the number or type of entry, i.e. prints and/or EDI. This fee and prints are to be submitted to the Maitland Competition Secretary by 2nd August.
Once you login to this website as a member of Maitland Club, you can use the “Northern Photographic Federation” link above to open NPF’s home page which provides access under “QUICK LINKS” to separate print and EDI entry pages. Use these pages to upload EDI versions of prints (required for competition management), print off labels for print entries and upload entries in the EDI sections of the competition.
Competition Details: Up to three entries can be entered in each of the following sections – Mono prints, colour prints, nature prints, small prints, open EDI, nature EDI, altered reality EDI. The size requirements are similar to those stipulated for Maitland Club’s competitions except all EDI images are limited to 1920 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high x 2 MB file size. You are asked not to enter essentially the same image in more than one section, nor enter images that have been entered in previous NPF competitions, and only enter as a member of ONE club.

Tues 5 July – 6.30pm for 7pm start – Open competition with separate teams of members judging each section. Please arrive early enough to have your prints on display, EDI images uploaded and entry forms completed ready for a 7pm start. All sections will be judged by separate teams simultaneously and then a spokesperson for each team will be asked to read out the scores, awards and constructive comments. Teams will be provided with a score sheet on a clipboard. The teams will be selected on the night and we are keen to involve members who participated in the judging practice fun night on 21 June.
